Dr. Veronica Hickie: Curriculum Leader: English/Drama

Qualifications:

• PhD in Humanities from the University of Technology, Sydney.

• Master of Education from the University of New South Wales (UNSW)

• Master of Arts in Theatre and Film (UNSW)

• Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education (UNSW)

• Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (UNSW)

• Bachelor of Education and a Diploma of Education (University of Queensland) 

Dr. Hickie has been a teacher for over thirty years and has taught in High Schools and TAFE in New South Wales, Queensland and England.

Dr. Hickie has been a subject Coordinator in both English and History in various schools prior to her appointment as Curriculum Leader in English and Drama at St Spyridon College. She was Director of Studies at Holy Cross College Woollahra for ten years.

At St. Spyridon College Dr Hickie leads a dynamic team of educators who are devoted to increasing the literacy and content knowledge of subject English. In the past five years, the English/Drama team, has re-written the entire program three times in order to tailor the content to the individual needs of the varying cohorts of students.
